Most working West Hollywood residents don’t work here. They commute, usually by car: 89% drive alone or carpool (2011-13). The City would like some car-commuting residents to shift to “alternative modes” — such as transit or biking — for traffic, environmental, and other reasons. We can encourage this shift by making sure residents have good alternatives for getting to their specific destinations. To do that, we need to know where residents are commuting to.
